What is White Vinegar

Originally White Vinegar is the one that remains formed from the fermentation of white wine. However, currently, there are distilled bottles of Vinegar that can come from other fermentations such as malt, corn, potato or sugar cane, among others, that is kinds of Vinegar distilled from alcohol and is the one we use mostly to clean.

It can be used in cooking, in salads, vinaigrettes, or to make preserves. It is the strongest of the kinds of Vinegar and can have 5% or 10% concentrations of acetic acid. Since being very strong, it remains always sold diluted and with its controlled attention.

Apart from in the kitchen and for health, Vinegar serves to clean the house and achieve a healthy environment and keep diseases at bay.

What is White Vinegar for at Home

Despite having both a gastronomic and medicinal use, without a doubt, the most prominent use of this white Vinegar is without a doubt that of an ecological cleaner. The most prominent benefits in this regard are the following:

To clean the floor, use Vinegar diluted in water. It is an excellent alternative to floor cleaners, bleach and other products that pollute water and soil and can also be harmful to benign insects such as bees and other pollenizers.

To clean the fridge, use Vinegar diluted in water. They clean refrigerators, it works excellently, eliminating moulds, dirt and stored fats.

To remove rust, use pure Vinegar and leave it to act for 24 hours. In this case, it is an excellent alternative to chemical anti-rust products.

Controlling blood sugar: Some human studies have found that ingesting white Vinegar can lower blood sugar and insulin levels after a meal.

Weight control: Some studies on the benefits of white Vinegar indicate that its consumption can increase the feeling of fullness by slowing the rate at which the stomach empties, possibly reducing calorie intake and consequent loss of weight. Therefore, although it is not a magic potion to lose weight, it can help people eat a good, healthy, nutrient-rich diet and regular sports activity.

Cholesterol reduction: Several studies have shown a decrease in cholesterol in the consumption of this variety of Vinegar. Ultimately, more research is needed to determine a cause and effect relationship between Vinegar and cholesterol.

Antimicrobial: Due to its antimicrobial properties, Vinegar can help treat some external ailments such as nail fungus, warts, and ear infections. It is also an effective topical treatment for skin infections and burns.
