Alcohol can greatly damage your liver cells. You need to keep a check on how much alcohol you are intaking. Alcohols can readily change the chemical compounds in liver cells that break down and remove scar tissue. This is how scar tissues build up in your liver.

Liver cirrhosis includes feeling unwell, vomiting blood, swollen stomach, loss of appetite, itching, and muscle cramps. In most cases, people won’t be aware that they have developed cirrhosis and liver failure until it is too late.

Track Your Medicine Intake

Some cholesterol drugs can have side effects on the liver. Certain painkillers like acetaminophen (Tylenol) can hurt your liver if you take it too much.

Some combinational drug therapies have proved to harm your liver if you aren’t taking them according to your prescription. You need to talk to your doctor or healthcare provider about what is the safest way to take your medicines.

Ward Off Viral Diseases To Maintain Liver Health

Viral diseases can seriously impact your liver health. You can catch hepatitis A viruses from eating or drinking water from an already infected source. You can get a vaccine for hepatitis A if you are traveling.

In the case of hepatitis B and C, that spread through blood and body fluids. You should be careful about sharing your personal items, such as toothbrushes, razors, or needles. You should have protection during intimacy and limit the number of sex partners.

It is important that you should get tested for viral hepatitis since it doesn’t cause any symptoms. You might have it for years but wouldn’t know. According to the CDC, you should get tested for hepatitis C if you were born between 1945 and 1965.

Prevent Hepatitis

Whether it’s the less risky Hepatitis A or B, the dicier Hepatitis B, you should try to prevent the same anyhow you can. For instance, if you want to take care of viral diseases (A & B), it will be essential for you to get immunized or vaccinated.

In some cases, Hepatitis B and C can also transmit through bodily fluids and blood. Therefore it will be best for you to practice safe intercourse. Also, don’t forget to wash your hands well before eating anything. After all, Hepatitis A can spread through contaminated water too.

Exercise Regularly

Not following a proper diet and exercising regularly can lead to fatty liver disease. It, in turn, can affect the organ gravely and affect the natural way it works. So, you should –

  • Walk for thirty minutes before going to sleep.
  • Wake up early and do light exercise for at least an hour or so.
  • Eat more and more vegetable-based food items.
  • Don’t consume oil- or fat-rich products.
  • Drink as much water as you can (at least three to four liters daily).
